Times Favorites and Notable Mentions.

Painful relevance resonates in works of Japanese photographers and tense home-front images by Alec Soth. On the lighter side are mentioned photomontages by Grete Stern at Vasari and a double portrait of Allen Ginsberg and Peter Orlovsky by Richard Avedon at at Eric Franck. Dynamic yet intimate shots by Mike Brodie of young train-hopping skate-punks at M&B are noted as well as the wealth of vintage material.
