Idilios or in Spanish, Romances, is the title of Spanish artist Marta Soul's series and current exhibition at Kopeikin Gallery. The series is bold and playful and explores concepts of identity, sexuality, and appearance through "happily ever after" moments. The kiss signifies something of a hollywood or fairytale ending, but Marta Soul's work contradicts the typical narrative in scenes where the same woman is caught in romantic scenes with different men.

We never know the woman's identity or see her face, but her red hair is unmistakable; in a jewelry store, elegant ballroom, the corridor, a golf course it is her the woman with the red hair. Always something about her has changed to fit her environment- her clothing, her pose, her gest, but still it is her. The model is a friend and actress of the photographer and works as an alter-ego to engage the fantasy of the kiss and chalenge idealism behind it.
