Traditionally known for her black and white documentary approach to the cultural landscape this exhibition will showcase Judith Joy Ross' her first foray into color photography. Iconic shots of school children, Vietnam and Gulf War veterans, protestors, and war memorial mourners are cornerstones of Joy Ross's work.

This new exploration is a shift, and not only in media. The sensibility, ease, and compassion remain but these images dig deep into the very natural relationship between humans, animals, and the environment. Images from wildlife rehabilitation centers, zoos, farms, and libraries come images ranging from intimate to unsettling. In Reading to dogs, Bethlehem Area Public Library, Bethlehem, PA, 2011 we see the power of animals in human experience and expression where children develop confidence and reading skills by reading to therapy dogs and handlers. In other works man is shown in the controversial act of hydrofracking for natural gas, and we feel critical of our intrusion into nature. Powerful and profound reflections are offered through the new work on man's relationship and impact on the global environment.
