Known for social landscapes that engage romantic pictorial traditions the new body of work by Scott Conarroe depicts the fading innocence along the coastline of North America. The massive geographic expanse of Canada and the United States touch all extremes- from frigid polar waters and foggy port towns to coastal highways and inviting beaches. The beauty and intrigue is cut with tension that is hard to identify. There is an easy trust and yet under the surface we know and speak of the reality of inevitable coming of climate change. We can not help but wonder what the impact will be, and how these sites will be altered.
