Exhibition: Jim Campbell at The National Museum of Photography, Copenhagen

Artist's first solo exhibition in Europe
Through April 16, 2011

Comprised with photographic and video processes Jim Campbell plays with space and perception making him a unique and innovative figure in contemporary art. Working closely with the artist and his New York gallery, Bryce Wolkowitz, the artist's first solo exhibition in Europe is now open in Copenhagen and is set to travel to Vancouver.

Image, light, and form shimmer and move with fluidity at times appearing clearly and at others diffused. Our sense of vision and perception is challenged and weather or not we can make-out our subject we are transfixed. Moments are simple, often drawing from the every day- cars, commuters, and street scenes. Reconstruction 1 is particularly enchanting; the simple flow and rhythm of forms move around us, a figure seems to pass us by and walk into the distance of the work. We feel surrounded, part of the piece, and even long to walk into its glistening surface ourselves.
