Candid, clever, and catchy, Jeff Mermelstein's work is featured for a second time by Wester Fine Art in an exhibition that focuses on the fashion industry. Originally made for New York Magazine the images in "A Photographer's Journey Through the World of Style" have a flavor all their own. While they function well as editorial and commercial works they hold up within the fine art category and it is in this light that they become most interesting.

Mermelstein's graphic and edgy street photography approach lends itself well to describing the culture of the fashion industry. Rather than runway haute couture we have a behind the scenes look at the staging, the designers, the models, and crew that facilitate events. We do not see what we expect- criticized or idealized fashion industry, rather a subject of study.
