They stir our curiosity and allow narratives to cultivate. The series, Óyeme Con Los Ojos (Hear me with Your Eyes) is inspired by the life and work of Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, a 17th century Mexican nun. Even from within her cloistered cell Inés de la Cruz held the greatest salon of her day and remains among the Americas' greatest poets and intellectuals. Works from other two other series also appear in the exhibition including pieces from Noche Oscura (Dark Night) and Water & Dreams.
The work of Joséphine Sacabo has exhibited internationally and is included in The Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, la Bibliothèque Nationale, The Boston Museum of Fine Arts and other museum and private collections.
