Maxwell Anderson Named New Director of Dallas Museum of Art
Dr. Maxwell L. Anderson appointed to replace Bonnie Pitman as Director of the Dallas Museum of Art. Mrs. Pitman retired this past June and Dr. Anderson is set to step into his new role in January. Dr. Anderson has been working with the Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA) for six years and has served in Director roles at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and Michael C. Carlos Museum of Emory University. Prior to these positions he contributed to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Curatorial roles and taught in the Department of Art & Archaeology at Princeton University and in the Università di Roma. Dr. Maxwell is a dedicated and progressive director known for increasing patronage and attendance.
