New Yorker Review: Lars Tunbjörk at Amador Gallery
Lars Tunbjörk
Through November 19, 2011
The clean and crisp frames of Lars Tunbjörk have a unique edge of humor. The exhibition draws work from three book projects- Landet Utom Sig (Country Beside Itself), Home, and Office. Alone each frame touches on the individual and the collective, the personal and the generic. Weather sunbathers beside subdivisions of cookie-cutter row homes, stockbrokers climbing over paperwork, accountants sitting on desk-top, or lawyers under a table in a sea of papers it is without question that the subjects are the most interesting part of the image. As a whole Tunbjörk's work builds to question even critique our post-industrial world that is consumed by commercialism.
